Unlisted Equity

Legacy Africa Capital Partners (Proprietary) Limited is an investment management business with a focus on private equity. LEGACY AFRICA Capital Partners, was founded in September 2018 and is a 60% owned subsidiary of LEGACY AFRICA Fund Managers, with the residual 40% owned by the Firm’s private equity management team. LEGACY AFRICA Capital Partners was founded as part of the realisation by LEGACY AFRICA Fund Managers’ strategy of growing from a Listed Equity Fund Manager to a diversified, South African based Financial Services Group.

LEGACY AFRICA CAPITAL PARTNERS believes in the growth story of SMEs in South Africa. Some of the best investment opportunities lie among the many SMEs active in the South African economy, including Black owned Companies which have the potential to build Black Industrialists, but have largely been overlooked by mainstream financial institutions, including the larger buyout funds that typically target larger acquisitions and buy-outs.

LEGACY AFRICA CAPITAL PARTNERS Fund I seeks to exploit this funding gap by providing capital to entrepreneurial, unlisted companies with enterprise values representing a range with significant untapped deal flow. LEGACY AFRICA CAPITAL PARTNERS seeks to invest in SME’s through the following mechanisms:

  • Buy-out existing shareholders, and introduce Black shareholders to drive growth; and
  • Funding businesses seeking expansion and growth capital.
